Fibers
My love for fiber art goes all the way back to those friendship bracelets we all made in grade school. I couldn't let that very important skill set go to waste so now, I tie knots into images and patterns with the hope they feel soft, comforting and familiar. Why landscapes? While mountains are magnificent and often distant, people (especially here in Colorado) have such a personal connection with them. Art itself can sometimes feel distant so I like to make things you can touch, feel, and have your own personal interaction with. Faces also intrigue me because our brains tend to see them, seek them out, even in abstractions. I also keep trying to understand why our brains easily pick out the form of the face, yet it is much harder to see a faceless human form. Did you see the faceless woman looking over her shoulder or was it a bunch of random lines? Ok, that's enough out of me, but please message me on instagram if you want to art-nerd out with me!
